Taking Action Today

For 3 years in a row, HP has been the only tech company to receive a triple ‘A’ rating across the Carbon Disclosure Project’s (CDP) Climate, Water, and Forests list and Supplier Engagement Leaderboard. ¹ The CDP is a national nonprofit organization that scores companies based on their environmental impact.

  1. Net-zero- HP’s goal is to reach net-zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) by 2040
  2. Smaller Footprint- Achieving a smaller footprint by reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 60% by 2025 as compared with 2015
  3. Circularity- HP aims to achieve 75% circularity with it’s products and packaging by 2030. Circularity involves the process of creating products that can be reused again and again instead of being a single use product.
  4. No More Waste- Reaching zero waste across HP’s operations by 2025² 

— As of 2019, HP has averted at 2.93 tonnes of CO2 across it’s entire value chain

—Since 2019, global operations have reached 59% less than the 2015 baseline

— Currently at 39% circular by weight

— As of 2021, HP’s global landfill waste was at a diversion rate of 86%²

HP believes that all people deserve opportunities and they are working to “amplify diverse voices, empower workers and respect human right” across their supply chain and partnerships.³

  1. Empower Workers- As compared to 2015, one of HP’s goals is to double factory involvement in the supply chain sustainability programs by 2025
  2. Executive Diversity- Doubling “the number of Black and African American HP executives by 2025”
  3. Gender Equality- By 2030, HP aims to achieve 50/50 equality in HP leadership
  4. Women in Engineering- Employing women in at least 30% of HP technology and engineering roles by 2030³

— As of 2021, HP has increased participation by 114%, goal achieved

— Currently, black and African American executives at HP have increased by 33% compared with 2020

— In 2021, globally, women held 32.5% of director-level positions or       higher

— As of 2021, 22.7% of tech and engineering roles are occupied by women³

Digital equity isn’t just about having access to the internet, it’s making sure everybody has access to the opportunities that the digital world has. It is making the tools and knowledge of digital technology available for everyone to use in order to have opportunities to be involved in the digital economy.4

  1. Advance Education- By 2025, HP’s goal is to enable better learning outcomes for 100 million people by 2025, focusing on technology, sustainability, and empowerment
  2. Accelerate Equity- Increase digital equity for 150 million people by 2025
  3. Enhance Skill Sets- Between 2016 and 2030, HP has planned to enroll 1.5 million users in HP LIFE, a multi-language, skill-building program
  4. Invest as a Community- The HP foundation and employee giving drives intend to invest at least $100 million towards community education4

— Since 2015, more than 74 million students and adult learners have benefitted from educational initiatives sponsored by HP                               

— In 2021, HP had impacted 4.3 million people with various education programs and digital equity initiatives

— 533,000 users have been enrolled in HP LIFE courses since 2016         

— The HP foundation and employee giving program have invested $73.4 million since 20164

  1. Drop it off- Return Original HP Ink and Toner Cartridges or Samsung Toner Cartridges to the nearest Cartridge 4 Plant Ark (C4PA) participating center
  2. Collection service- Return Original HP or Ink and Toner Cartridges or Samsung Toner Cartridges using collection bags, or order your own starter kit and collection bags
  3. Reuse- Trade-in or return your used equipment for new qualifying equipment or for cash6
